Who operates Quote Unpack?

Operator: Quote Unpack is operated as a sole trader business in Australia. The operator's legal identity may be disclosed where required by law.

What we collect

We process the files you choose to upload, including their contents and filenames, together with a random browser identifier used to connect your comparison and payment flow. We also collect limited technical and event information needed to operate the service, troubleshoot failures and understand the product funnel. We do not intentionally collect sensitive information as part of the service.

How we use uploaded quotes

Your uploaded documents are sent to third-party technology providers, including an AI processing provider, to extract and compare the information needed to produce your report. We do not use your quote contents for advertising or sell your information.

Payment information

Payments are handled by Stripe. Quote Unpack does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe processes payment and billing information under its own privacy terms.

Storage and retention

The original uploaded files are processed for the comparison and are not stored by Quote Unpack. The generated comparison result is stored only for as long as it is needed:

• Free previews that are not paid for are deleted automatically, usually within two days.
• Paid reports are deleted automatically 7 days after payment. Download the PDF to keep your own copy.
• Product events (see Analytics) and usage records are deleted after 90 days.
• Payment records (package, amount, date and an anonymous browser ID, but no quote contents or card details) and unused comparison credits are kept so purchases can be honoured, refunded and accounted for.
• If you use saved credits, your email address is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form used to find your purchases.

Operational logs kept by our hosting provider may be retained for a short period. We aim to minimise the information we retain.

Analytics

Quote Unpack records limited, pseudonymous product events such as page visited, analysis succeeded, checkout started and report downloaded, together with the website or campaign link that brought you to the site. These events are linked to a random browser ID rather than your name, are designed not to contain quote contents, supplier names or payment card details, and are deleted after 90 days. Quote Unpack does not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

Your choices

Only upload information you are authorised to use and, where practical, remove unnecessary personal information from documents. If you have a privacy question, access/correction request or complaint, contact the operator using the details above.

Australian privacy law

Whether the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles apply to the operator depends on the operator's circumstances and any applicable small-business exceptions. Quote Unpack is designed with privacy-by-design principles, but this page is not a substitute for legal advice.

Changes

We may update this policy when the service or its data practices change. The current version will be published on this page.
